The hot-dip galvanizing process for light poles involves subjecting the base material (typically Q235 steel) to degreasing, acid washing, water rinsing, and pre-treatment with a flux. The material is then immersed in molten zinc at 440–460°C, where the steel surface undergoes a metallurgical reaction with the zinc. This forms a dense, highly adhesive composite coating consisting of a zinc-iron alloy layer and a pure zinc layer. The core advantage of this process lies in the coating's robust bonding to the substrate, which resists peeling and enables long-term corrosion protection through sacrificial anodic protection. Even if the coating is locally damaged, the zinc layer oxidizes and corrodes first, shielding the underlying steel from rust. The finished galvanized layer on lamp poles typically exceeds 85μm in thickness, delivering outstanding outdoor corrosion resistance. It withstands harsh environments such as coastal areas, saline-alkali conditions, and high fog exposure, significantly extending the lamp pole's service life to over 20 years.

The depth of discharge (DOD) of lithium batteries commonly used in solar street lights (primarily lithium iron phosphate) is directly correlated with cycle life: the deeper the discharge, the shorter the battery's cycle life. Under conventional conditions, maintaining a discharge depth between 70%–80% can achieve a cycle life of 2,000–3,000 cycles for lithium iron phosphate batteries. Reducing the discharge depth to 50% extends cycle life to over 4,000 cycles.
