Project location:Ouagadougou Burkina Faso
Project owner: SONABEL
Project quantity: 596 sets 8m 60w Solar Street Light
The Government of Burkina Faso secured funding from the French Development Agency (AFD) to implement Phase 2 of the Ouagadougou Sustainable Development Project (PDDO-2). This project encompasses road construction and the installation of solar street lights in public areas of the Tampouy District and the East District of Ouagadougou.
As part of the project, our Goldsun Solar was invited to submit a quotation for the solar street light system. According to the technical specifications, the supply included 405 sets of 8m 80w single-arm solar streetlights and 191 sets of double-arm solar streetlights.
To secure this significant project,Goldsun Solar presented the end client with images of completed solar street light projects in West African countries, including Benin, Burkina Faso, and Togo. We also showcased photos of our engineering team traveling to Burkina Faso to provide on-site installation guidance, as well as real-time WhatsApp feedback from clients. These project visuals received high recognition from the client’s management team. Within 20 days, we successfully secured this 596-unit solar street light project.
Following the 35 day installation period, the local government and the national power company, SONABEL, jointly conducted project acceptance inspections. On-site assessments confirmed stable and uniform lighting output, with brightness significantly surpassing existing regional infrastructure. This improvement has effectively enhanced nighttime visibility and public safety levels.
